Meet the Team
Dr. James Eckert, D.C.
Doctor James Eckert was born and raised in Flint, Michigan and attended the School of Nursing at the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor. He is a U.S. Navy veteran serving as a Medical Corpsman during the Vietnam Era.
Dr. Eckert graduated from Life Chiropractic College-West in Hayward, CA in 1983. His Chiropractic career has taken him to practice in Edinburgh, Scotland; San Antonio TX; Farmington Hills, MI; Norwich, CT; and Rocky Hill, CT where he has practiced for the past 8 years.
Dr. Eckert has received designations from the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners, American Board of Disability Analysis and National Association of Integrative Medicine. He has advanced certifications in the fields of motor vehicle accident injuries and accident reconstruction. He holds professional membership in the Christian Chiropractors Association, Connecticut Chiropractic Association, and American Association of Spine Physicians. His wife Sherrie is the office manager and is a certified Health Coach. They have nine grandchildren, a dog named Jazzy and attend Galilean Baptist Church in Stafford, CT.
Sherrie Eckert, C.H.C.
Sherrie Eckert is originally from Chester, PA and moved to New England in the early 1980s. She graduated in 1976 from Bob Jones University, Greenville, SC and studied Business Administration. Sherrie has worked in the business field of insurance and banking most of her working career. In 2015 she made a change in her career and joined Healthsource of Rocky Hill as Chiropractic Assistant and Office Manager.
She has always had an interest in trying to live a healthy lifestyle with a desire to help others as well. As a certified health coach, Sherrie helps clients feel their best through food, supplementation and lifestyle change by tailoring individual wellness programs.
Robert Downes, L.M.T., F.A.F.S.
Robert’s lifelong interest in the health field stemmed from wanting people to experience better lives.
He graduated from University of Connected in Biology but did not stop there. He continued his education by completing UConn’s paramedic program, becoming a CPR instructor and a certified Massage Therapist. He has rounded out his health expertise by incorporating studies and certification as a holistic life coach, nutrition and becoming a personal coach.
Robert grew up in Hartford and is now living in Rocky Hill with his family. In his spare time he focuses on the 5 M’s: Movement, Mobility, Meals, Meditation, and Mentation.
